- Version 1.2
- Published 19 October 2026
This policy is from Sewell Technologies, Victoria, Australia ("we", "us"). It covers the PlotScope library, our website and the customer account area.
The library collects nothing
PlotScope does not contact us. There is no telemetry and no usage reporting, and your licence key is checked on your own machine.
The website
We use no advertising and no analytics or tracking services run by others. The only third-party code that runs in your browser is Paddle's checkout when you buy, and Google's sign-in when you open the portal; both are described below, and each has its own privacy policy.
The website has a small script of our own that records which pages are visited and how the site performs for you: how you arrived, how long a page was read and how far down, whether your browser supports WebGPU and which kind of graphics hardware it reports, how long the first chart took to draw and why one failed, and what you copied, searched for in the docs or clicked through to. It is sent only to our own server. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device.
We do not keep your IP address with it. Our server uses the address once, as each visit arrives, to work out your country and to count visitors with a code that changes every day, so one day's visits cannot be linked to the next. Your browser and device type are read from what your browser sends with every request. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, the script records nothing. Docs search terms are kept, but anything shaped like an email address is dropped. None of it is linked to your account, even when you are signed in.
Our server also keeps ordinary access logs, to keep the site running and secure. The last part of each IP address is removed before a line is written, so the logs show roughly where a request came from and not who sent it.
We keep the analytics and the access logs for 13 months, so a month can be compared with the same month a year before, and then delete them. Neither is shared with or sold to anyone.
When you buy a licence
Paddle, our reseller, takes the payment. We never see your card details; Paddle's own privacy policy covers them. Paddle passes us your name, email address, company name and order reference.
We keep those with your licence record: the tier, number of developers and term you bought, the domains and internal hosts the key covers, the dates, and the key itself.
When you sign in to the portal
You sign in with your email address, which is verified through Google Firebase Authentication. We set one cookie to keep you signed in for up to two weeks. It is used for nothing else.
Your browser also keeps a few things on your own device: Firebase's record that you are signed in, your email address while a sign-in link is on its way, your cart, a checkout you have started, and whether you have signed in before or dismissed a notice. They stay on your device and reach us only when you submit them.
When you contact us
Support requests are opened from your account and kept with it. We are told of a new request, and you of our replies, by email through Resend, which handles the message in transit. We keep what you send us and our replies.
What we use it for
To issue your licence and let you retrieve it, to answer support requests, and to keep the business records the law requires. We do not sell or share your information, and we do not send marketing email unless you ask for it.
The only others who handle it are the services we run on: Paddle for payment, Google for sign-in, Resend for email, and OVH, which hosts our server in Canada. That means your information is handled outside Australia, in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.
How long we keep it
Your licence is perpetual, so we keep your licence record for as long as you might need the key re-issued. You can ask us to delete it at any time; we will then be unable to re-issue your key. Records of a sale are kept for five years, as Australian tax law requires. Emails are kept for up to three years.
Your rights
To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, open a request from your account.
Changes
If this policy changes we will post the new version here with its date.
